Nudge is a Sonos app we designed and built in-house — two full apps, one for iPhone and one for Apple Watch, each a complete way to control your speakers. Now playing, room switching, search, and one-tap favorites, without replacing the setup you already have.
Two full apps, built together — The iPhone app is a complete Sonos controller: search, queue, favorites, and whole-home control on a full screen. The Apple Watch app is an equally complete experience built for the wrist — full-screen artwork, Digital Crown volume, and haptics — never a shrunken phone app. Neither depends on the other; each stands on its own.
What it does — Glanceable now playing with album art and Crown-driven volume. Voice and text search across your favorites and full music library. See every speaker and switch rooms in a tap. Reorder and clear your queue. And guest access lets friends queue music with no passwords or account sharing.
How it's built — Controlling Sonos in real time is harder than it looks; standard discovery on watchOS drains battery and adds lag. We built Nudge around fast local networking so both apps respond instantly — it feels like physical hardware, not a buffering app. Built on iOS (Swift, SwiftUI) and watchOS 11+, with Sonos, Apple Music, and Spotify integrations.
Private by design — Nudge is local-first. Your music, listening habits, and speaker names stay in your home, never sold or shared.
